Enchanting Grand Cayman Beaches

Seven Mile Beach: Often voted “The Caribbean’s Best Beach,” Seven Mile Beach is home to most of Grand Cayman’s best hotels and condos and some of the best cuisine in the Caribbean. There are several “Public Access” beaches to explore, such as Governor’s Beach, Public Beach (next to Calico Jack’s beach bar), and Cemetery Beach (with some of the best snorkeling on Island). Try kayaking, kite surfing, jet-skiing, parasailing or paddle boarding, or simply while away the day under a Casuarina tree on the glorious white sandy beach.

Cayman Kai: Cayman Kai, on Grand Cayman’s north coast, offers many of the same amenities and activities as Seven Mile Beach but without the big crowds. Visitors will find a restaurant, concession stand, dive shop, and six miles of white coral sand beach for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, beach volleyball and sailing.

Rum Point: Also on the tranquil North Side of Grand Cayman facing Cuba, Rum Point has calm and shallow waters for kids, and adults have access to the top Caribbean water sport operators and a host of colorful island beach bars and restaurants. Rum Point offers changing rooms, showers, huts, hammocks, snorkeling and volleyball nets to help you pass the time.

Smith Barcadere: Smith Barcadere, also known as Smith Cove, is located in a residential neighborhood in South Sound on the west coast of Grand Cayman. Smith Cove is a gorgeous inlet protected by coral and limestone formations and surrounded by amazing turquoise waters. With gentle waves, a stunning view, and lots of shade under the sea grape trees, the beach is a popular swimming and snorkeling site for locals and tourists alike, and it’s possible to see tropical fish quite close to shore. Head south on S. Church Street from George Town for about 10 minutes, and you will find the beach on your right after you pass Thompson Drive.

Spotts Beach: Discover peaceful Spotts Beach off Shamrock Road in the Spotts Newlands part of Grand Cayman, where homes and waterfront condos surround ironshore cliffs and white sand. This beach is famous for the high number of green sea turtles that swim through the shallow waters and graze on the sea grass as you snorkel. There are cabanas, benches and tables available for picnics and barbecues, and the south-facing beach is a great place to watch the sunset.

The Cayman Islands offer the best beaches with something for everyone to enjoy. When you’re ready to buy rum or other liquor and spirits, visit Jacques Scott Wine & Spirits where you’ll enjoy an incomparable selection and expert customer service.
