Make Your Own Authentic Cayman Cocktails

Whether you are relaxing after a long work day or vacationing with friends at your villa, grab the necessary ingredients at Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits and recreate one of these three authentic cocktails invented by Cayman’s world-class mixologists.

Bikini Martini

Created by the Cayman Spirits Company, a Bikini Martini is colorful and delicious. Combine 1 oz. of Gun Bay Vodka, 1 oz. of Governor’s Reserve Coconut Rum and 1 oz. pineapple juice and shake with ice until frothy. Pour into a martini glass, gently sink a dash of Grenadine, and garnish with an orange slice. Since the different ingredients have different weights, the Grenadine will sink to the bottom, followed by the rum and the pineapple juice.

Cayman Lemonade

This adult version of pink lemonade was invented at the lively Calico Jack’s Bar & Grill in the heart of Seven Mile Beach. Mix together 2 oz. Stolichnaya vodka, 1 oz. DeKuyper Triple Sec, 1 oz. of Bols Peach Schnapps, 1/2 oz. cranberry juice, 1/2 oz. FC or Mr. & Mrs T sweet and sour mix, a splash of soda water, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Pour over ice, garnish with a lime wedge, and enjoy.

Cayman Mudslide

Mudslides are a “thing” on Grand Cayman, and legend says this now-famous version was created on the northern tip of the Island at the Wreck Bar & Grill at Rum Point. Unlike most commercial Mudslides, you won’t find any ice cream or whipped cream in this one.

To make a proper Cayman Mudslide, blend together about a cup of ice per serving with equal parts of Absolut vodka, Kahlua and Bailey’s Irish Cream, until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a glass. For a finishing touch, garnish with cinnamon, a maraschino cherry, and a shot of Kahlua down the straw.
