Visit Cayman Crystal Caves

This geologic wonder, situated in a lush tropical forest in North Side, Grand Cayman, took millions of years to form as seawater erosion created caverns filled with stalagmites, stalactites, crystal-like mineral deposits, and a gorgeous interior lake.

Once submerged under the sea, the property includes over 100 caves across 75 acres, and three of them are now available for guided walking tours – the Open-Ceiling Cave, the Roots Cave and the Lake Cave. The Cayman Crystal Caves are rumored to have been a hideout for pirates.

In addition to viewing the caves, visitors are treated to some of the history, flora and ecology of Grand Cayman and have an opportunity to walk through the lush tropical landscape that surrounds the caves. It’s common to see bats, birds and iguanas during this tour.

Location: Cayman Crystal Caves are located 62 feet above sea level, at the highest point on Grand Cayman, in Old Man Bay, North Side, Grand Cayman. This is a 40-minute drive from George Town (and the cruise ship port) and a 50-minute drive from Seven Mile Beach.

Hours: Guided tours are available daily, except on Good Friday and Christmas Day. Visitors, however, must pre-book tours before arrival.

Open only since 2016, Cayman Crystal Caves is one of Grand Cayman’s newest attractions. Take advantage of tips from Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits, and stop at one of our liquor stores for your favorite beverages or order them online for free delivery.
