Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits has provided this quick guide to food and alcohol pricing in Grand Cayman to help you find the best deals.

The prices at most stores, bars and restaurants on Grand Cayman are listed in the local currency – the Cayman Islands Dollar (KYD). When paying with US Dollars, add 20% to account for the exchange rate. In other words, KYD $1.00 (or CI $1.00) is equal to USD $1.20.

There are plenty of bars and clubs on Grand Cayman where you can enjoy drink specials, food and entertainment. Here are a few of our favorite places in George Town:

My Bar at Sunset House has a traditional bar under a thatched roof cabana and shaded tables on a deck where you can enjoy a beautiful ocean view. Dance the night away at The Wharf, popular for its Tuesday salsa nights (they give free lessons) and Boogie Nights Old School dance party on the last Friday of the month. Bar Crudo, downstairs in Guy Harvey’s, has live music most nights. And the trendy South West Collective features live Latin music on Friday evenings.

Dining in George Town

Grand Cayman is known as the culinary capital of the Caribbean. Food can be slightly more expensive than in the U.S., but the prices are on par with those you will find on many other Caribbean islands and in other tourist destinations, such as Hawaii. There are fabulous restaurants and cafes throughout the Island, but here are several of our George Town favorites:

  • Casanova By the Sea: Located at 65 North Church Street in Downtown George Town, Casanova is a much-loved favorite, serving delicious Italian food and seafood with beautiful waterfront views. Must try: authentic brick oven pizza.
  • Da Fish Shack: You’ll find this casual waterfront Caribbean chill spot at 127 North Church Street in George Town’s business district. It specializes in fresh, locally caught seafood, and also serves sandwiches, burgers and steaks.
  • George Town Yacht Club: On the waterfront at The Barcadere Marina on North Sound Road in George Town, GTYC is a great place to unwind and enjoy an international menu. Must try: Conch Ceviche and pulled-pork sandwiches.
  • Greenhouse (The): This casual café at 72 North Church Street across from George Town harbour is a favorite of locals and visitors. Everything is made from scratch from organic ingredients and locally grown produce. Must try: Hot Feta & Arugula Dip
  • Lobster Pot: This cherished landmark, located at 245 North Church Street in George Town, is Cayman’s longest established restaurant. Enjoy the lobster, crab, catch-of-the-day, and the magnificent views. Must try: Conch Fritters or Cayman Turtle Steak.
  • Seymour’s Jerk Centre: If you’re on Island on a Friday or Saturday night, grab some take-out from this popular spot inside Cayman Cabana on the George Town waterfront. Must try: Jerk chicken or pork.
