Dining on Grand Cayman

Food on Grand Cayman is slightly more expensive than in the U.S., but the prices are on par with those you will find on many other Caribbean islands and in other tourist destinations, such as Hawaii. There are options here to fit all budgets.

Seven Mile Beach: Popular fine dining options along Seven Mile Beach include Veranda, LUCA, Agua Restaurant & Lounge, Ave, Edoardo’s, Blue Cilantro, Blue by Eric Ripert, and Abacus. If an Irish pub is more your style, check out Fidel Murphy’s.

If you’re craving excellent brick oven pizza, give Ragazzi or Cimboco a try. You’ll find impeccable fresh fish as well as French, Mexican, Italian, Thai, American, Caribbean, and Asian specialties that represent the cultural diversity of the Caymans.

George Town: Favorites include Grand Old House with its diverse menu and spectacular sunset views; Lobster Pot Restaurant & Wine Bar, which is perched high above the bay with breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and a fresh sea breeze; The Greenhouse, where every dish is made to order from scratch with locally grown produce and organic ingredients; and LeVele for excellent thin crust pizza and seafood.

Grand Cayman, like other Caribbean Islands, has some unique ingredients and dishes that you may not find at home. For instance, it’s the only place in the world where you can legally eat turtle, which you may find on Island in the form of soup, steak and stew.

Conch (pronounced “conk”), an edible snail that is widely found throughout the Caribbean, has a mild, sweet clam-like flavor. The tough flesh is pounded to tenderize it, and you can find it in soup, stew, salad and spicy fritters.

Be sure to try Cayman jerk chicken and pork that is smoked to perfection in rustic steel drum barrels. Seymour’s Jerk Centre in George Town, Red Bay Jerk Chicken in Grand Harbour, and Rankin’s Jerk Centre in Bodden Town are local favorites.
