How to Enjoy Grand Cayman

Hit the Beach – You can’t avoid spectacular beaches in Grand Cayman. The largest and most popular is Seven Mile Beach, where you’ll find most of the resorts and most of the people. If you’re looking for a quieter, more peaceful, but equally gorgeous stretch of sand, consider Starfish Point on the northeast tip of Grand Cayman which is often full of amazing orange Cushion Starfish, or Smith Barcadere, also known as Smith Cove, in South Sound which is a popular swimming and snorkeling site.

Embark on a Unique Adventure – Visit the Cayman Turtle Farm which is home to thousands of Green Sea Turtles, ranging in size from six ounces to 600 pounds each. It is the only facility of its kind in the world. Stingray City and its string of shallow sandbars is another of our most popular attractions. Observe and interact with these “gentle giants,” hold them, feed them with squid treats, and even swim alongside them.

Dive and Snorkel – Discover a whole new world beneath the bright blue waters of beautiful Grand Cayman. Sites like East End’s Babylon, with its colorful rope sponges and black coral, the North Wall, which makes up the edge of the Cayman Trench that runs from Cuba to Central America, and West Bay’s Northwest Point Drop Off, one of the most colorful dive sites in the entire Caribbean, will take you on an undersea adventure. Another great snorkel or dive is the USS Kittiwake, a 251-foot-long former submarine support ship that was sunk in 2011 to serve as an artificial reef.

Dine & Drink – The Cayman Islands are the culinary capital of the Caribbean. You’ll find delicious fresh fish as well as French, Mexican, Italian, Thai, American, Caribbean, and Asian specialties that represent the cultural diversity of the Islands’ residents. When you’re ready for cocktails, try the casual Bar Jack at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman along Seven Mile Beach, or enjoy one of Grand Cayman’s famous “Mudslides” at The Wreck Bar and Grill at the tip of Rum Point on the tranquil North Side.

Shop till You Drop – Grand Cayman is rated #1 in the Caribbean for duty free (tax free) shopping, which means you won’t pay taxes on clothing, jewelry, or anything else you’re thinking of buying. If you’re visiting Grand Cayman on a cruise, pre-order duty free beer, wine and spirits from our sister site, Jacques Scott Cruise Duty Free, and purchases will be delivered free of charge to your ship when you arrive in port.

No matter how many trips you make to Grand Cayman, there is always something to do. Stop in at Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits for your favorite beverages, and then head out to explore our beautiful Island!
