The World Class Bartender of the Year Competition is the world’s biggest and most respected bartending competition. The competition celebrates the skills and craftsmanship of bartenders worldwide. It is an annual competition entered by thousands of bartenders across the globe, culminating in a Global Final event and experience.

World Class Kick off Virtual Event

The World Class Competition is not only where the best bartender in the world is crowned, it’s where the latest trends are showcased by industry leaders, where the trade’s biggest issues are unpacked by those actively championing them, and where we witness first-hand brand and partner innovations that will shape and define future drinks experiences.

2021 marks the 12th year of the World Class program, and while it could look a little different to past years, we’re sure it will be full of fun, community, education and of course killer cocktails!

This year we will be kicking things off with a Virtual Launch event hosted by some of the World Class Global team and industry experts from around the Caribbean and Central America including our own, Amba Lamb.

Next comes the World Class Studios, the virtual training platform designed to help experienced bartenders develop and refine their skills regardless of location or resource. Our Bartenders will be taught across a range of subjects from how to use alternative sweeteners with Ketel One, tricks to make a spectacular Johnnie Walker highball and the inside scoop on Tanqueray 10 Botanicals

Then it’s Competition Time!

The first round is open to all bartenders; they will have the opportunity to wow the judges with their technique and World Class creations, from this 10-12 will be chosen to go on to the next round a month later.

Our superstars will then compete for a spot in the final 6. They’ll have time in the spotlight – on stage – at our World Class Cayman Final Cocktail Festival.

Our top 6 will be put to the test by producing 6 cocktails in 6 minutes under the watchful eye of our judges and a crowd at The Kimpton Beach Deck.

Our newly crowned World Class Cayman Islands Winner will go on to represent the country in a unique multi-format event hosted in Madrid, Spain from 5-8th July 2021. Here after a range of testing tasks the new World Class Global Bartender of the Year will emerge victorious!

The event will be the first since 2020 was postponed (due to the Coronavirus pandemic), and will be specially created to celebrate global cocktail culture safely and in line with all prevailing Cayman Islands Government Covid-10 guidelines.

World Class is on a mission to inspire people to drink better and create unforgettable experiences in the process. World Class has supported, trained and inspired over 350,000 bartenders across the globe for more than eleven years, while partnering them with the world’s finest spirits – the Diageo Reserve collection. World Class is also the authority on the drinks industry. They are where consumers look for information on the latest drinks, trends, cocktail recipes and industry insight.
