Dos Equis was founded in 1897 when Wilhelm Haase brewed a beer that he called Siglo XX, which is now called Dos Equis.
Dos Equis, along with Tecate and Sol are made by Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery out of Monterrey, Mexico. This brewery is owned by Heineken now, but it was founded in 1890.
Dos Equis has a 4.2% ABV and is an American-style lager. In a 12 oz. serving, the beer has 11 carbs and 131 calories. The tasting notes of Dos Equis include a balanced, crisp, fresh, and smooth flavor with notes of biscuit. We suggest that you serve Dos Equis chilled to 35-40° in a pint glass with burgers, steaks, or a bowl of nuts.

Dos-a-Rita Frozen
Ingredients:
- Citrus salt
- 2 oz. tequila blanco
- 1 ¼ oz. lime juice
- 1 ¼ oz. agave syrup
- Salt
- 7 oz. Dos Equis Lager (can pour the 12 oz. bottle)
- Ice
- Dashes of chili tincture (to taste)
Instructions:
- In a blender add tequila, lime, agave, and chili tincture.
- Add ice to liquid level.
- Rim glass with citrus salt.
- Pour into glass and top with an up-turned bottle of Dos Equis.
Grapefruit Splash
Ingredients:
- Citrus salt
- 2 oz. grapefruit juice
- ½ oz. lime juice
- ¾ oz. agave nectar
- 1 ½ oz. tequila reposado
- 6 oz. Dos Equis
- 3 large ice cubes
- Grapefruit slice
Instructions:
- Rim glass with citrus salt and add ice.
- Pour remaining ingredients except the Dos Equis into the glass.
- Top with Dos Equis.
- Garnish with the grapefruit slice.
