Cayman Islands Beaches

The Cayman Islands offer some of the best beaches in the Caribbean with something for everyone in the family to enjoy. For recommendations from the knowledgeable staff at Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits, read on.

Our Favorite Grand Cayman Beaches

Cayman Islands BeachesSeven Mile Beach: Often voted “The Caribbean’s Best Beach,” Seven Mile Beach is home to most of Grand Cayman’s best hotels and condos and some of the best cuisine in the Caribbean. There are several “Public Access” beaches here to explore, such as Governor’s Beach, Public Beach, and Cemetery Beach. Try kayaking, kite surfing, jet-skiing, parasailing or paddle boarding.

Cayman Kai: Cayman Kai, on Grand Cayman’s north coast, offers many of the same amenities and activities as Seven Mile Beach but without as many people. Visitors will find a restaurant, concession stand, dive shop, and six miles of white coral sand beach for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, beach volleyball and sailing.

Rum Point: Also on the tranquil North Side of Grand Cayman facing Cuba, Rum Point features calm and shallow waters for kids, and adults have access to the top Caribbean water sport operators and a host of colorful island beach bars and restaurants. You’ll find changing rooms, showers, huts, hammocks, snorkeling, and volleyball nets to help you pass the time.

Smith Barcadere: Smith Barcadere, also known as Smith Cove, is located in a residential neighborhood in South Sound on the west coast of Grand Cayman. With gentle waves, a stunning view, and lots of shade under the sea grape trees, it’s a popular swimming and snorkeling site for locals and tourists alike, and you can see tropical fish quite close to shore.

Our Favorite Little Cayman Beaches

Point of Sand: Point of Sand, also known as Sandy Point, is located on the east coast of Little Cayman and is a popular day trip from Cayman Brac. You’ll enjoy soft pink sand, warm clear turquoise water, shallow reefs that are great for snorkeling, a tiki hut with tables, hammocks and a grill, and, often, few other human beings in sight!

Owen Island: 11-acre Owen Island is a spectacular destination if you’re looking for peace, quiet and solitude. Located a few hundred yards off the southwest coast of Little Cayman, you can row, sail or kayak across Bloody Bay and spend the day picnicking on the beach.

Our Favorite Cayman Brac Beaches

Brac Reef: You’ll discover beautiful Brac Reef Beach on the southwest end of Cayman Brac at the Cayman Brac Beach Reef Resort. Spend your day fishing, kayaking, diving, snorkeling, or relaxing in the hammocks or seaside swing.
