Try Some Caribbean Rums
The sugar-rich islands of the Caribbean and West Indies were the birthplace of rum production in the 17th century, and still produce the majority of it today. Since you’re in the Caribbean, why not enjoy something from our large selection?
Anguilla – Pyrat Rum is a blend of different rums from the Caribbean that are produced in a traditional pot still and aged to perfection in barrels made from French Limousin oak and toasted American oak. The bottle is based on those used by 19th century pirates, and each one is hand-filled and labeled with a handwritten serial number at the factory on Anguilla.
Barbados – Mount Gay Eclipse from Barbados is the world’s oldest existing brand of rum (since 1703). The distilleries are in the northern part of the island where the Island’s best sugarcane originates. There are other rums made on Barbados, but Mount Gay is the most prominent.
Cayman Islands – Grand Cayman’s own Seven Fathoms Rum is a golden rum that is aged in wooden barrels seven fathoms underwater. It is the first spirit to be made entirely in the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Spirits Company also produces the refreshing Governor’s Reserve White Rum.
Jamaica – The Appleton estate in Jamaica has produced rum since 1749. It is the island’s oldest sugar estate and the country’s oldest continuously run distillery. You may also be interested in Jamaica’s Myers’s Rum, a popular component of many tropical drink recipes.
Martinique – In 1887, Homère Clément bought a sugarcane plantation in Martinique and pioneered “rhum agricole,” a style of rum distilled from freshly squeezed sugarcane juice instead of molasses. Clement Rhum Agricole is among the world’s most renowned rums.
