Our Favorite Cayman Cocktails

You’re in Grand Cayman; why not share the Island experience with your guests. Here are several recipes from the experts at Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits that will help you create some authentic Cayman-style cocktails!

Cayman Mudslide

Mudslides are a “thing” on Grand Cayman, and legend says this now-famous version was created at the Wreck Bar & Grill at Rum Point on the northern tip of the Island (where they continue to serve more than 400 per day). Unlike most commercial Mudslides, you won’t need any ice cream or whipped cream for this one.

To make a proper Cayman Mudslide, blend together about a cup of ice per serving with equal parts of Absolut vodka, Kahlua and Bailey’s Irish Cream, until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a glass. For a finishing touch, garnish with cinnamon, a maraschino cherry and a shot of Kahlua down the straw.

Bikini Martini

Created by the Cayman Spirits Company, this cocktail is colorful and delicious. Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add 1 ounce each of Gun Bay Vodka, Governor’s Reserve Coconut Rum, and fresh pineapple juice. Shake vigorously, and strain out over a cocktail glass. Pour ¼ ounce of Grenadine slowly into the center. Garnish with an orange slice.

Seven Mile Breeze

Named for beautiful Seven Mile Beach, this refreshing cocktail combines 1.5 ounces of Gun Bay Vodka, 4 ounces of cranberry juice, and 1 ounce of grapefruit juice. Pour it over ice in a tall glass and garnish with a lime.

Rum Punch

Craving some refreshing Cayman-style rum punch? Make two quarts by combining one 11.3 ounce can each of mango nectar, guava nectar and strawberry-banana nectar, 6 ounces pineapple juice, 6 ounces of orange juice, 6 ounces of cranberry juice, six ounces of water, and 12 ounces of your favorite Caribbean rum. Squeeze in the juice of two limes and add the rinds to the pitcher. Serve over ice.

Cayman Lemonade

This adult version of pink lemonade was invented at the lively Calico Jack’s Bar & Grill in the heart of Seven Mile Beach. Mix together 2 ounces Stolichnaya vodka, 1 ounce DeKuyper Triple Sec, 1 ounce of Bols Peach Schnapps, 1/2 ounce cranberry juice, 1/2 ounce FC or Mr. & Mrs T sweet and sour mix, a splash of soda water, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Pour over ice, garnish with a lime wedge, and enjoy.
